GeoHab 2009 was held 5–8th May 2009 in Trondheim, Norway, at the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU). The conference was organized by Terje Thorsnes, Kim Picard, Margaret Dolan (Geological Survey of Norway), Pål Buhl-Mortensen (Institute of Marine Research, Norway), Kari Nygaard (Institute for Water Research, Norway), and Ingrid Bysveen (Directorate for Nature Management, Norway).
The themes of the conference were
- Linking geology and biology – new developments in the use of proxies for ecosystem characterization
- Acoustic and statistical methods for substrate and biota classification and modelling
- Arctic habitats and climate change
- Broad-scale perspectives and case studies
